Prime Video has shared the trailer for The Runarounds, a coming-of-age music drama series from the creators of the hit series, Outer Banks.

An official synopsis reads“The Runarounds follows a group of recent high school graduates from Wilmington, North Carolina, who come together the summer after graduation to form a rock band, united by their shared love of music and near-impossible dream of stardom. As they pursue the big leagues, they encounter big trouble along the way.”

The Runarounds stars William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher came together for the project after Pate recruited Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline to put out a call for young musicians on social media to star in a new series. The series also stars Lilah Pate, Maximo Salas, Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah, Mark Wystrach, Brooklyn Decker, Hayes MacArthur and Shea Pritchard star.

Outer Banks creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke are also are among The Runarounds‘ executive producers.  Josh Pate recently told Entertainment Weekly of the process that led to the selection of the musicians/actors who ultimately formed the Runarounds: “We got 5,000 bands sent to us in a week. I was thinking that these kids are going to freak out if they’ve never had cameras in their face before.”

Pate added that the pilot for The Runarounds was originally shot in 2022, but since then the musicians have formed a group in real life. “They’ve written tons of songs. They just played their first festival in Charlotte. They’re out of high school now and they’re totally legit musically. It’s awesome.”

In addition, the official soundtrack to the series will be released coinciding with the series’ debut on September 1st (to presave, head HERE).  The band’s first two singles — “Funny How The Universe Works” (featured in the series trailer) and “Senior Year” (the first song written and recorded by the real-life band) — are also available now on streaming services.

The Chainsmokers release the new single “White Wine & Adderall”

Andrew Taggart^ Alex Pall of The Chainsmokers at the 9th Breakthrough Prize Ceremony Arrivals at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on April 15^ 2023 in Los Angeles^ CA

The Chainsmokers have officially released their new single “White Wine & Adderall” featuring vocals from Beau Nox.

Drew Taggart and Alex Pall share about the song: “It took a whole day to get the main three lines of this song. We sat with the incredible Beau Nox, scratching our heads and left the session, ultimately thinking nothing would come from the tiny hook we had written. A couple of days later Drew and I were talking about this UKG wave and I said I bet you can’t make a version of this in that world. A few hours later, it was hitting pretty hard. It wasn’t a song that we immediately imagined releasing but after playing it in many of our shows and seeing the reaction, it became clear to us it needed to come out. Last time I bet Drew he couldn’t make a certain style of song, we ended up with Don’t Let Me Down. After all these years, maybe this is how we work best.”

The release of “White Wine & Adderall” follows last year’s “Don’t Lie” with Kim Petras; see the lyric video for the track – here.
