Anya Taylor-Joy to star in Apple TV+ limited series ‘Lucky’

Actress Anya Taylor-Joy has signed on to star in and executive produce the Apple TV+ limited series, Lucky, based on the best-selling novel by the same name by Marissa Stapley. Apple TV posted on X: “Anya Taylor-Joy confronts a dark criminal past in this adaptation of the New York Times best-seller. Lucky — A new limited series coming to Apple TV+”

A press release reads: “In ‘Lucky,’ Taylor-Joy stars as a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.”

Producer Reese Witherspoon said in a press release: “Reese’s Book Club began with the goal of deepening connections — to the stories, to the storytellers and to the community we are building. It is incredibly rewarding to be able to amplify these female-centric stories and their authors, see our community connect with them, then see them take on a whole new life on screen. NFL star Travis Kelce makes an appearance in the trailer for the anticipated sequel film Happy Gilmore 2. Adam Sandler returns as Happy Gilmore, the hockey player reinvented as a golf star, in the first teaser released by Netflix

The 40-second glimpse of Netflix’s golf-themed comedy sequel also saw the reunions of the title character with his rival Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) and love interest Virginia (Julie Bowen) – who all starred in the original 1996 film.

Joining the cast of Happy Gilmore 2 are Kelce, Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Nick Swardson, Benny Safdie, Scott Mescudi and Jacob Friedman.

Happy Gilmore 2 will hit Netflix in 2025.

Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 has revealed that Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX will headline the 23rd edition of the Barcelona-based music festival, running from June 5- 7 at Parc del Fòrum.

In a press release, festival organizers called their three female headliners the “three most important artists of the moment,” reinforcing their status as the new faces of pop at a global level. If Primavera Sound has always aimed to be the musical reflection of its time and place, the presence of these three artists at the festival is undoubtedly a goal achieved. A photograph to remember. Apple TV+ recently debuted the new series Prime Target, a conspiracy thriller featuring Leo Woodall (The White Lotus) and Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets). Prime Target had a two-episode premiere Jan. 22 on Apple TV+, with subsequent episodes released each Wednesday.

Created by writer Steve Thompson, the eight-episode drama follows Edward Brooks (Woodall), a young math genius on the verge of a major breakthrough.  A show synopsis reads“If he succeeds in finding a pattern in prime numbers, he will hold the key to every computer in the world. Soon, he begins to realize an unseen enemy is trying to destroy his idea before it’s even born, which throws him into the orbit of Taylah Sanders (Swindell), an NSA agent who’s been tasked with watching and reporting on mathematicians’ behavior. Together, they start to unravel the troubling conspiracy Edward is at the heart of.”

Kesha released her latest single, “Delusional,” the follow-up to her hit song, “Joyride” which debuted last summer.

“Delusional” was  co-written by Kesha, Zhone, and Madison Love, and produced by Zhone, and was released via the singer’s own independent label, Kesha Records. Kesha’s record label launch and her newly released tunes follow the settling of a defamation suit filed by Dr. Luke in 2023, which came several years after the singer filed a suit against the producer in 2014 alleging physical, sexual and emotional abuse.

Måneskin’s Damiano David adds news dates to solo 2025 tour

Måneskin’s Damiano David will embark on a solo 2025 global tour with dates across Europe, Australia, North America, South America and Asia. David will tour across five continents, including venues in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, and Toronto, as well as newly-added shows in London and New York City.

Damiano said of the tour: “I’m beyond excited to announce my first ever world tour as a solo artist. I can’t wait to connect with all of you in person and share my new music. Every city is going to be a celebration of the music, the fans, and the journey we’re all about to go on together. See you out there!”

The tour kicks-off Thursday, September 11 in Warsaw, Poland, with other stops across Europe including; Berlin, Amsterdam, Cologne, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, London, Brussels, Zurich and Milan before concluding in Rome on Saturday, October 11 at Palazzo dello Sport. The trek then continues in Australia with shows in Sydney on Wednesday, October 22 at Enmore and Melbourne on Friday, October 24 at The Forum. Damiano will then be heading to Japan with shows in Tokyo on Monday, October 27 at Tokyo Garden Theaterand Osaka on Wednesday, October 29 at Zepp Osaka Bayside.

In addition, the South American leg of the tour begins Thursday, November 7 in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Tokio Marine Hall, other stops include; Buenos Aires and Santiago before concluding in Bogotà, on Thursday, November 13 at Teatro Royal Center.

Fiinally,the tour concludes with a string of North American dates, starting on Monday, November 17 in Mexico at Mexico City, Mexico at Auditorio BlackBerry, before continuing to Seattle (Paramount Theatre), San Francisco (The Masonic), Los Angeles (The Wiltern), Chicago (The Riviera Theatre), Detroit (The Fillmore Detroit), Toronto (HISTORY), Montreal (MTELUS), Philadelphia (The Fillmore Philadelphia) and New York (Brooklyn Paramount) before concluding in Washington DC on Tuesday, December 16 at The Fillmore Silver Spring.

Laverne Cox and George Wallace to star in new Prime Video series ‘Clean Slate’

Clean Slate, a series starring Laverne Cox and George Wallace, is set to premiere on Prime Video Feb. 6. Telma Hopkins, D.K. Uzoukwu, Jay Wilkison and Norah Murphy also star in the series.

An official synopsis reads: “This heartfelt comedy follows Harry (Wallace), an old-school car wash owner in Alabama who has a lot of soul searching to do when the child he once called ‘son’ returns after 17 years as a proud trans woman named Desiree (Cox).”

Cox recently appeared in Netflix’s The Uglies and she is also an executive producer on the eight-episode show, which notes that “the series explores universal themes of unconditional love, all through Norman Lear’s signature boundary-pushing brand of comedy,” per an official description.
