Maren Morris shares new album ‘Intermission’

Maren Morris attends the 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 15^ 2018 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas^ Nevada.

Maren Morris has released her new album, ‘Intermission,’ sharing in a social media post: “intermission is the distillation of the strangest year of my life. i decided to hit the scariest reset button i could have ever conceptualized and there was no looking back. the lengths one will go to feel joy again are sometimes desperate and terrifying as all get out, but we all deserve peace in these very short few trips around the sun. here’s my heart’s journey and gamut of emotions in 5 songs. as i weave through loss, catharsis, sexuality and gratitude, i hope you can hear the light coming back to me in these stories and somewhere, perhaps, see it mirrored back in you. love, m”

The 34-year-old Morris just released her post-divorce song, “I Hope I Never Fall in Love,” after debuting the track during a concert at Red Rocks in Colorado last month, and shared in an Instagram reel the inspiration behind her new track: “’I Hope I Never Fall in Love’ is the afterglow of a s-tshow. It’s pretty self-explanatory from the title, having just gone through a giant breakup. Just not wanting to go down that path again, and wanting to keep things casual, and really just lean into the ‘situationship’ of it all. it’s a bittersweet heartbreaker because I’m in self-protection mode but still want to feel things. So throwing parties, going home with a stranger, popping champagne, whatever we need to do to process our trauma, it’s not a pretty road to healing. I, of course, do want to fall in love again, but I can’t put my heart through it just yet, so here’s a number about this strange but constructive (and destructive) window of my life.

Morris filed for divorce from Ryan Hurd in October 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. The pair, who were married for five years, share 4-year-old son Hayes; their divorce was finalized in December 2023. Days before Morris took the stage at Red Rocks, she also came out as bisexual, writing via Instagram: “happy to be the B in LGBTQ+ happy pride 🌈.” She celebrated the moment by dancing with a Pride flag at the end of the concert.

Cast at the LA Premiere Of HBO's "Euphoria" at the Cinerama Dome on June 4^ 2019 in Los Angeles^ CA

HBO announced that Euphoria will begin production on Season 3 in January 2025 – more than two years after the conclusion of Season 2.

Deadline first reported in March that filming plans for the series had been pushed back, with creator Sam Levinson still working on scripts. At the time of the announcement in March, cast members were being allowed to take other jobs; and with HBO cognizant of this move, they will plan to work around certain actors’ schedules. Filming will now start at the top of next year with all of the principle cast returning, and viewers should expect a time jump to take place between Season 2 and 3. Series creator Levinson will return as writer, director and executive producer.

Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, said, “I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”

Europhia has launched many of the primary cast members careers, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and recurring player Colman Domingo. Eric Dane, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Dominic Fike also star in the series.

Euphoria originally premiered on HBO in 2019, and the second season launched in January 2022 (with two one-hour specials airing in December 2020 and January 2021.)  Production on Season 3 was delayed due to the writers and actors strikes in 2023, as well as other projects from the principle cast members.

Listen to Joe Jonas’s “Work It Out” from upcoming solo LP ‘Music For People Who Believe In Love’

oe Jonas at the premiere for "Devotion" at the Regency Village Theatre. LOS ANGELES^ CA. November 15^ 2022

Joe Jonas released his first solo single “Work It Out”, shortly after sharing the single’s artwork along with a message to his fans on Instagram: “I’m both excited and emotional as I’m gearing up to release new music. I’m humbled and grateful to collaborate with some of my favorite musicians and creators. I hope you find as much happiness & peace as I do when you listen to these songs.”

‘Work it Out’ is off Joe’s upcoming solo album, Music For People Who Believe In Love, which will arrive October 18th.  The album will be Jonas’ first solo project since 2011’s Fastlife; he additionally released one album with his group DNCE.

Joe shared a letter with fans opening up about the new record: “This album is a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view acknowledging the many blessings around me. When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on the positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment. It’s okay to cry and mourn a loss – it’s part of the process to take care of ourselves and eventually enables us to be there for the people we care about. … this album speaks to the experiences of being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I’ve found in doing what I love for a living. I feel incredibly fortunate to travel the world and connect with people through my music, as well as having had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented musicians, songwriters, and producers on this project.”

Joe also shared the inspiration behind the album: “a director I once worked with had a handwritten note above his camera during filming that asked, ‘What do you want them to feel?’. This question still resonates with me every time I step on stage or create new music. The ability to perform, connect deeply with an audience, and evoke positive emotions, or even healing, is a gift I cherish.”

Jonas is set to join his brothers on the European leg of The Tour in September, after being postponed from the spring. The trek begins on September 9th in Belfast with dates through October 16th in Krakow.

Grateful Dead, Francis Ford Coppola, Bonnie Raitt named 2024 Kennedy Center honorees

The Kennedy Center is illuminated in a rainbow of colors in recognition of the upcoming Kennedy Center Honors. Washington^ DC / USA - November 19^ 2019

Francis Ford Coppola, the Grateful Dead, Bonnie Raitt and Arturo Sandoval were among those revealed as the 47th Kennedy Center honorees.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts named rock icons Grateful Dead, acclaimed singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt and legendary jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval among this year’s honorees, who will receive the 47th Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements. The Apollo Theater will also be recognized during the December ceremony, which will take place on Dec. 8th and later air on CBS on Dec. 23.

Coppola is known for his work on The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, and he also produces wine and runs the literary magazine Zoetrope: All-Story. Bonnie Raitt has been awarded 13 Grammy awards and has made a name for herself as a social activist, while Arturo Sandoval received President Obama’s Presidential Medal of Freedom among numerous other awards.  The Grateful Dead has already been recognized with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions.

Kennedy Center Chairman David M. Rubenstein shared in a statement: “The Kennedy Center Honors recognizes artists who have made an extraordinary impact on the cultural life of our nation and continue to have an immeasurable influence on new generations.”  Kennedy Center president Deborah F. Rutter added: “Our honorees this year have each played an invaluable, pioneering role in developing American culture. Not with one act of art but with their decades-long devotion to pushing creative boundaries. In December, we are thrilled to pay special tribute to New York City’s renowned Apollo Theater on its 90th anniversary. Throughout its history, The Apollo has guided us and the world forward by discovering and nurturing raw talent, molding a unique cultural identity that defines American culture still today.”

Surviving Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh, 84, Mickey Hart, 80, Bill Kreutzmann, 78, and Bob Weir, 76, wrote in a collective statement: “It goes without saying that the Kennedy Center Honors represents the highest of reaches for artistic achievement. To be recognized alongside the artists who have in the past received this honor is beyond humbling. The Grateful Dead has always been about community, creativity, and exploration in music and presentation. We’ve always felt that the music we make embodies and imparts something beyond the notes and phrases being played — and that is something we are privileged to share with all who are drawn to what we do — so it also must be said that our music belongs as much to our fans, the Dead Heads, as it does to us. This honor, then, is as much theirs as ours.” Acknowledging their almost 60-year journey, the musicians also said that they’re “beyond grateful for this recognition .. Thank you, Kennedy Center, and to all the folks who had a hand in bringing us here, for this incredible honor.”

Coppola, 85, said in a statement: “I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to collaborate with great artists and wonderful people throughout my career, and I have never stopped learning. There is no greater honor than to be included along with those who inspired me, who I looked up to, and who gave me encouragement when times were dim. I am grateful to the Kennedy Center, my beloved colleagues, to those who equate beauty and truth, and to all the children of the world.”

Raitt, 74, wrote in a statement: “I am deeply honored and thrilled to have been chosen to receive one of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors. I have long been an admirer of the awards and have been so blessed to be able to participate in several shows honoring others. There is no higher level of esteem nor as delightful a celebration, and I want to extend my sincere thanks to all who have chosen me to receive this honor. I look forward to the upcoming ceremony and festivities, which I know will be one of my life’s peak experiences.”

The 47th Kennedy Center Honors will take place at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington D.C. on Sunday, Dec. 8, and will later broadcast on CBS on Dec. 23. The ceremony will also stream on Paramount+.
