‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)’ debuting on Disney+ with additional songs

Disney announced on X that the ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ concert film will be available for streaming next month on Disney+. In a statement, Disney CEO Bob Iger said: “The Eras Tour has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively through Disney+.”

Swift also posted the news on Instagram: “This week is truly the best kind of chaos. I’m thrilled to let you know I’ve found a streaming home for The Eras Tour Concert Film, and that home will be @disneyplus. For the first time we’ll be showing the entire concert (including “cardigan”, plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!!) and I’m calling it, huge shock, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)”. Available starting March 15 which is actually very 🔜😆🫶

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) will stream starting March 15. The film will include all songs from the three Los Angeles tour dates during which it was filmed at SoFi Stadium, and will include the song “cardigan,” as well as four additional acoustic surprise songs from the tour: “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “You Are in Love” and “Death by a Thousand Cuts.” The film was one of the biggest box office sensations of 2023 and stands as the top-grossing concert documentary movie of all time, grossing $180.8 million domestically and $80.9 million overseas for a total of $261.1 million against a mere $15 million budget.

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice sequel shares poster, official title: ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’

Warner Bros. has announced the official title for the sequel to the 1988 film Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder.  The poster for the movie unveils the sequel’s title — ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.’

The studio shared the poster on social media along with the caption: “Dare you to say it again. #Beetlejuice #Beetlejuice – Only in theaters September 6.” The image shows a pair of hands holding a paper featuring the film’s release date, Sept. 6, and the words, “The wait is almost over.”

‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ is a reference to its title character. Michael Keaton portrayed Beetlejuice in the original 1988 film, and the 72-year-old actor is on board again for the sequel, as well as Winona Ryder, who will reprise her role as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O’Hara, who played Delia Deetz. Joining the case are Monica Bellucci as Betelgeuse’s wife, along Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s daughter.

Burton is back to direct the sequel, and announced in November that the movie has wrapped filming. ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ debuts in theaters on September 6th.

Sony Pictures shared a trailer for the new film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, featuring Paul Rudd and Bill Murray.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and the fifth film in the ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise. The films follow Gary Grooberson (Rudd) and Callie Spengler (Carrie Coon), the daughter of late Ghostbuster Egon Spengler (played late actor Harold Ramis), along with Callie’s children, Trevor (Finn Wolfhard) and Phoebe (Mckenna Grace).  Meanwhile Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and William Atherton reprise their roles from the original 1984 ‘Ghostbusters’ film.

Frozen Empire follows the Spengler family as they return to New York City to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who according to a film synopsis “have developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. After the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.”

Mariah Carey announces ‘The Celebration of Mimi’ Las Vegas engagement

Mariah Carey announced The Celebration of Mimi, a new show at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas. The 54-year-old singer posted on her socials:  “Vegas, I’m coming back to town with a new show!! 🎉🦋 ‘The Celebration of Mimi’ Live in Las Vegas, this April 12-27 at Dolby Live at Park MGM! Get your tickets Saturday at 10am PT @ ticketmaster.com/MariahVegas 🎉🦋🎙❤”  Carey previously had residency shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The Celebration of Mimi residency will commemorate the 19th anniversary of Carey’s 2005 album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’, which featured the hit songs “It’s Like That,” “We Belong Together” and “Shake It Off.”  According to Billboard, Carey’s new show “will feature fan favorites from that album as well as other hits from her unparalleled illustrious career.” The exclusive engagement will hold performances on the following dates: April 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 24, 26 and 27.

Usher to launch 2024 North American ‘Past Present Future’ tour

Usher has announced a new 2024 North American tour, dubbed ‘Usher: Past Present Future’. Usher posted on his socials: “U ready for me? Presenting USHER: PAST PRESENT FUTURE, starting August 2024! Tickets on sale Monday, Feb 12 @ 10am local. Sign up for the fan presale starting Friday, Feb 9 @ 10am | Link In Bio”

The 45-year-old singer-songwriter recently wrapped his two-year “My Way: The Las Vegas Residency.” The new tour announcement comes just ahead of the release of Usher’s ninth studio album, ‘Coming Home’ due on Friday, 2/9; as well as his upcoming Super Bowl Halftime performance on Sunday, 2/11.

The 24-city trek starting on August 20 in Washington, DC. Throughout the tour, he’ll make stops in Brooklyn, Miami and Atlanta, as well as the inaugural performer at Los Angeles’ Inuit Dome. The tour will conclude with two nights at Chicago’s United Center on Oct. 28-29.

Elton John is celebrating his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour’ with a new book that will arrive this fall.  ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories of My Life on Tour’ will be released on September 24. Elton’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour’ kicked off on September 8, 2018, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and featured a total of 330 concerts before it wrapped up on July 8, 2023, in Stockholm, Sweden.

According to a statement, ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories of My Life on Tour’ will offer readers “an epic visual journey” documenting the the tour and will also will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at various aspects of the trek, including John’s Gucci-designed wardrobe, the detailed stage design, and the celebrities who attended the shows. Among the memorabilia featured in the book are posters, sketches, and postcards from John’s personal archives. In addition, the book will highlight memorable moments on tour including the last U.S. concerts at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles in November 2022, and Elton’s performance at the U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival in June 2023. The book also includes a foreword written by John’s husband and manager, David Furnish, who was the creative director of the tour.

John said of the book on his socials: “I am incredibly excited to announce my new book, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories of My Life On Tour”, which goes behind the scenes on my final tour, from Allentown, PA, to Stockholm, Sweden and everywhere in between. Taylor Swift reveals tracklist for new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

Taylor Swift has revealed the tracklist for her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department. The album will include 16 new songs, with features from Post Malone and Florence + the Machine, along with a 17th bonus track titled “The Manuscript.”  You can see the full tracklist via Swift’s social media: here.

Details of the album comes days after Swift had announced she would be releasing The Tortured Poets Department during the Grammy Awards on Sunday night. After winning the Grammy for best pop vocal album for her 10th album, ‘Midnights,’ Swift said during her acceptance speech: “This is my 13th Grammy … I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. So I want to say ‘thank you’ to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years — which is that my brand new album comes out April 19.” Later in the evening, Midnights went on to also win Album of the Year, making Swift the first person to win that award four times.

Buckingham Palace announces King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer

Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement on Monday, February 5 that King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer. The 75-year-old Charles recently underwent a procedure to treat an enlarged prostate last month.

A statement from the Palace posted to social media read as follows: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. * His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual. * The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible * His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”

The palace did not offer further details on the type of cancer that King Charles was diagnosed with, nor did they share what stage the cancer is. The King was last seen publicly attending church on Sunday with Queen Camilla at St. Mary Magdalene Church near Sandringham, marking the monarch’s first outing since leaving the hospital on Jan. 29 following a three-day stay after his prostate procedure. King Charles returned to London from Sandringham on Monday to commence treatment as an out-patient.
