Paramore releases “almost” remix album ‘Re: This Is Why’

shutterstock_193121840537249

Paramore has dropped a surprise ‘almost’ remix album titled ‘Re: This Is Why’, featuring reimagined versions of tracks from their latest studio album released earlier this year, This Is Why.

‘Re: This Is Why’ features contributions by Bartees Strange, Claud and Wet Leg; as well as Paramore’s touring partners Foals, The Linda Lindas and Remi Wolf; jazz geniuses DOMi & JD Beck and alternative electronic wizards Panda Bear, Romy & Zane Lowe. ‘Re: This Is Why’ also includes Paramore’s demo of the album track “Sanity.”

Frontwoman Hayley Williams shares: “We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence. Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically, while others were reworked or rewritten. It’s incredible to hear all our worlds colliding. We sent This Is Why – the record – out into the world early this year, with all its messages of disdain, distrust, and sobering self-examination. This is the Reply.”

The official trailer for the upcoming Sofia Coppola feature, “Priscilla,” has been released.

The film, based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir “Elvis and Me,” details her personal accounts of her relationship with Elvis, including their first meeting in 1959 in Bad Nauheim, Germany, as well as their Las Vegas wedding in 1967, and birth of their daughter, Lisa Marie the following year – as well as their eventual divorce.

Staring Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and Jacob Elordi as Elvis, the film centers on Priscilla’s perspective, in contrast to Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biographical music drama “Elvis,” which starred Austin Butler as Elvis.

Blink-182 have shared the video for “Dance With Me,” which pays homage to the legendary punk band The Ramones.  The song is off Blink’s upcoming album One More Time, out Oct. 20, marking the return of Tom DeLonge to the band after a two-album absence. One More Time has already yielded 2022’s “Edging,” as well as the recently released singles “One More Time” and “More Than You Know.”

The video for Dance With Me, directed by the Malloy Brothers, sees Blink’s Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker all sporting leather jackets and mop haired wigs as they’re being interviewed about punk and their new song. Says Hoppus: “Punk is doing what you think is right on your own terms and not answering to anybody else and not letting people tell you how you should live your life.”  The Blink-182 guys mimic the famous Ramones video for “I Wanna Be Sedated”, and posted on X: “This video is a love letter to The @RamonesOfficial.”

Blink-182 is currently touring Europe and the U.K., but will be back in Las Vegas for two shows later this month. Then in February and March of next year they’ll play Australia and New Zealand, with South American dates to follow in the spring. For ticketing info, head here.
