Taylor Swift drops four unreleased songs as she kicks-off her ‘Eras Tour’

Taylor Swift kicked-off her ‘Eras Tour’ with four new songs. Taylor announced the release of the songs in an Instagram Story, sharing: “In celebration of The Eras Tour I’m releasing four previously unreleased songs tonight at midnight.” Swift’s Eras Tour kicked-off on Friday night in Glendale, Ariz.

The songs include “Eyes Open (Taylor’s Version)” and “Safe & Sound (Taylor’s Version),” featuring  The Civil Wars singers Joy Williams and John Paul White joining the pop star on the latter track. The third re-recording is “If This Was A Movie (Taylor’s Version)” from the pop star’s 2010 album, Speak Now. The fourth and final song is the previously-unreleased “All Of The Girls You Loved Before,” which was recorded for her 2019 album, Lover.

John Mulaney’s new special ‘Baby J’ to debut on Netflix in April

John Mulaney’s latest Netflix standup special, titled “John Mulaney: Baby J,” will premiere April 25th. The special marks Mulaney’s third Netflix standup special – following 2015’s “The Comeback Kid” and 2018’s “Kid Gorgeous.” He also worked with the streamer on the Emmy-nominated children’s variety special “John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch” in 2019.

Mulaney began touring with “John Mulaney: From Scratch” in the middle of 2021 after his widely publicized rehab stay. Mulaney, who divorced from his wife in 2022, also spoke candidly about becoming a father for the first time as he had a child with actor Olivia Munn.

“Baby J,” directed by Alex Timbers, was filmed in Boston’s Symphony Hall in February 2023 and features music from David Byrne of Talking Heads.

Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson reuniting for new Apple TV+ series

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are reuniting on screen for a new Apple TV+ comedy from creator David West Read — this time, playing versions of themselves. Read’s credits include “Schitt’s Creek” and Broadway’s “& Juliet.” He’s part of the “Schitt’s Creek” team that won the outstanding comedy Emmy in 2020, and was also nominated for a writing Emmy that year.

Read’s untitled 10-episode half-hour comedy will feature McConaughey and Harrelson — along with their families — attempting to live together on McConaughey’s Texas ranch. Apple TV+ calls the new show “a heartfelt odd couple love story revolving around the strange and beautiful bond between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.”

McConaughey and Harrelson starred together in HBO’s anthology crime drama “True Detective” in 2014, as Louisiana State Police detectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart, respectively. Both actors were nominated for lead drama actor in their roles.

Apple TV+ and Skydance also unveiled Read’s new project, “The Big Door Prize,” at the SXSW festival in a world premiere event. Starring Chris O’Dowd, The Big Door Prize will debut with the first three episodes on Wednesday, March 29, followed by one new episode weekly every Wednesday through May 17.

Megan Thee Stallion returns to Houston for March Madness Music Festival

Megan Thee Stallion announced she will be hitting the stage in Houston for the March Madness Music Festival, her first festival appearance of 2023. The three-day event, coinciding with the NCAA Final Four basketball tournament, will take place at Discovery Green on March 31, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; April 1, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and close out on April 2, 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Megan shared in a statement: “There’s no place I’d rather be for my first performance of the year than my hometown of Houston. The AT&T Block Party Concert is gonna be such a vibe, and I can’t wait to get back on stage in the city where it all began. I’m looking forward to seeing my Hotties and putting on an unforgettable show for them.”

Netflix shares trailer for Lewis Capaldi documentary ‘How I’m Feeling Now’

Netflix has released the trailer for the new documentary ‘Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now’, set for release on April 5.

The documentary captures Capaldi’s ‘defining year, struggling to balance the familiarity of home, normality, and all he’s ever known with life as one of the biggest stars on the planet, gleaning an intimate portrait of his unique character, hopes, and fears in his own words .. digging beneath the popular clichés surrounding the most unlikely of popstars reveals a deeply thoughtful and self-reflective young man at a unique crossroads in his life as he carries the weight of trying to eclipse the success of his record-breaking debut album.’

The 26-year-old Capaldi will release his sophomore album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent on May 19, the follow-up to Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, Capaldi’s 2019 full-length debut from 2019 which featured the hit singles as “Before You Go” and “Someone You Loved.”

Bella Twins retire from WWE, reveal name change to Nikki and Brie Garcia

The Bella Twins — Brie and Nikki — announced their retirement from the WWE, and revealed they are no longer going by their stage names. The newly-named ‘Garcia Twins’ posted a video on Instagram of themselves walking through a door and captioned it, “Welcome to our next chapter!”

On an episode of their podcast “The Nikki and Brie Show,” the twins shared that going forward they are officially going to use their birth names, Nikki and Brie Garcia. Nikki Garcia said on the show “Today, we are officially from here on out the Garcia twins … We’re mothers, we’re entrepreneurs. We’re executive producers. We’re starring now, we’re hosting shows. And when our contracts came up with WWE, mutually we all knew we just needed to head into this new chapter.”

The Garcia twins (whose full birth surname is Garcia-Colace), signed with the WWE in 2007, and said they wanted to thank the characters they played in the ring because the characters helped them get to where they are going in life. Brie Garcia said: “I just want to thank Brie Bella. Brie Bella, the character that — the name, all of it. That I have been the last, you know, pretty much almost, I don’t know, 16, 17 years. I am so excited to close that chapter on Brie Bella. Put that book to the side and open up a new one and see what Brie Garcia’s going to do next.” Nikki Garcia added, “And I am so beyond grateful for Nikki Bella — Nikki Bella, whoa. She empowered me. She inspired me. She truly made me become fearless and the road that she has paved and what she’s done for women and the youth and will continue to do just as Nikki Garcia.”

‘Abbott Elementary’ star Quinta Brunson to make ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosting debut

NBC’s Saturday Night Live announced on Twitter that ‘Abbott Elementary’ star Quinta Brunson will host the April 1st edition of the show, marking her SNL hosting debut. Lil Yachty will be that episode’s musical guest, in his own SNL debut.

The 33-year-old Brunson is the creator and star of the hit ABC sitcom Abbott Elementary, Before Abbott, Brunson starred in the first season of HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show. Her other TV credits include roles in Miracle Workers, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Party Down, and History of the World: Part II. She also had voice roles in Magical Girl Friendship Squad, Lazor Wulf, Big Mouth, and Harley Quinn.

Brunson’s Abbott Elementary has won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, an NAACP Image Award, a Film Independent Spirit Award, a Television Critics Association Award, three Black Reel Awards, and a SAG Award.

Janet Jackson to detail tour in new documentary ‘Janet Jackson: Family First’

Janet Jackson will detail her upcoming ‘Together Again’ tour in the new documentary, ‘Janet Jackson: Family First’. 

Lifetime and A&E announced that the networks have greenlit a continuation of the story of the superstar’s life and career, which serves as the follow-up to last year’s documentary ‘Janet Jackson.’ The new documentary will also reveal Janet’s efforts to reunite the family band with her brother Randy for the first time in 40 years. According to the networks, “Janet Jackson: Family First” will “chronicle the legendary singer, songwriter, producer, author, actor, philanthropist and global icon as she embarks on her 2023 “Together Again” tour, and her collaboration with brother Randy Jackson to reunite the family band after 40 years since their last performance.” Janet’s first tour in four years was announced back in December. The 33-date run will kick off April 14 in Hollywood, Florida and end at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena on June 21. The tour will celebrate her 50-year career and focus on 1997’s ‘The Velvet Rope’ and 1993’s ‘Janet’ alongside her greatest hits.

Said Janet in a statement: “I was touched by the love and support from the wonderful fans who enjoyed the documentary last year. I am excited to continue to share my story, and welcome fans into my life and the ‘Together Again’ tour. Thank you for your never-ending support, and I hope you enjoy the next chapter. Randy Jackson added: “In this next chapter in the documentary, Janet and I are thrilled to welcome viewers on the road with us as we embark on the ‘Together Again’ tour, celebrating the milestone of 50 years of Janet’s career with fans across the country. We look forward to the continued partnership with Lifetime and A&E, and to sharing our family with viewers.”

‘Janet Jackson: Family First’ is currently filming. No release date has been confirmed as of press time, but it will simulcast on Lifetime and A&E.

Meghan Trainor shared her new single and accompanying video for “Mother,” which appears on the new Deluxe Edition of her recent album Takin’ It Back.

Trainor enlisted mother-of-all-mothers Kris Jenner to star in the video for “Mother,” directed by longtime collaborator Charm LaDonna. The pair dance and sing along to the doo-wop inspired track, which samples The Chordettes’s 1954 hit, “Mr. Sandman.” Said Trainor: “I’m beyond excited to finally share ‘Mother’ with the world!  This song is my response to being in the industry for almost a decade now and still finding myself in situations where I am talked down to or made to feel like my opinion isn’t valid. It’s for anyone who is in a situation where they feel like they are being mansplained to and want to take their power back.”

Trainor’s Takin’ It Back (Deluxe Edition) includes the album’s original 16 tracks as well as three new tracks – “Mother,” “Grow Up,” and “Special Delivery” featuring Max — and the remix of “Made You Look” featuring Kim Petras.

Teaser for ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 3 features Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd

Hulu released a 30-second teaser of Only Murders in the Building Season 3, giving viewers a look at Paul Rudd’s and Meryl Streep’s new characters.

The preview for the new season of the mystery-comedy series shows amateur sleuths and Manhattan neighbors Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putman (Martin Short) and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) reunite to solve another crime. Rudd and Streep appear as fictional actors in a scene where the trio is holding a table read for a new play called, ‘Bye Bye Buffalo.’
