AMC has announced its new ‘Walking Dead’ spinoff, ‘Isle of the Dead,’ which will follow Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s characters, Maggie and Negan. The Walking Dead ends this year in its 11th season.

The six-episode series will see Maggie and Negan’s uneasy partnership as they ‘travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.’

Walking Dead writer Eli Jorné will showrun and executive produce with Cohan and Morgan and Scott Gimple.  Cohan said in a statement: “Maggie is very close to my heart and I’m excited to continue her journey against the iconic backdrop of New York City, alongside my friend and collaborator, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. I cannot wait for the fans to see what we have in store for Maggie and Negan.”

Morgan added in a statement, “I’m delighted that Negan and Maggie’s journey continues. Walkers in an urban setting has always been such a cool image, but 5th Avenue, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty? The greatest city in the world?? The backdrop is amazing, but it’s the story that Eli Jorné cooked up that is even better.”

Isle of the Dead is expected to premiere in 2023.

Pamela Anderson is set to make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago, in an eight-week engagement running from April 12 through June 5 at the Ambassador Theatre in N.Y.C.

The 54-year-old Anderson said in a press release:  “I have always been a huge fan of Bob Fosse’s & Gwen Verdon’s work. Ann Reinking, too. There is a freedom, a unique joy in knowing it’s all about the work. Playing Roxie Hart is a sweet escape for me.”

The role of Roxie Hart was originated by Gwen Verdon in the 1975 Broadway production. Other big names who have stepped into Roxie’s dance shoes on stage over the years include Ann Reinking, Ashlee Simpson Ross and Michelle Williams, as well as Renée Zellweger in the 2002 Chicago film adaptation opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones as rival and fellow murderess Velma Kelly.

Haim shares music video for their new song ‘Lost Track’

shutterstock_1064279150

Haim has shared the video for their new single “Lost Track,” directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Anderson has previously directed videos for Haim for the tracks “Night So Long,” “Right Now,” and “Little Of Your Love.” The visual for “Lost Track” finds the band joining a 1950s social club, turning into ladies who lunch alongside friends and family of the acclaimed film director.

In an Instagram post, Haim explained the inspiration for the song, noting they had the last line of the chorus written “for the last year but could never figure out what to do with it. We kept writing it down, not knowing where it should live. Cut to PTA shooting the director’s cut issue for @wmag with our baby sister on the cover! An opportunity arose to do a quick music component while shooting the story. Paul mentioned having the book “Appointment in Samarra” as a possible direction. So we did some digging around the book and were inspired by the scene where the main character throws a drink in someone’s face at a country club. We were inspired by the idea of someone doing something so drastic to get out of a situation they felt uncomfortable in – just to feel something. We finally remembered that lyric and wrote and recorded the song and shot the whole thing in a few days! Anyway, felt fun to do something very collaborative/ off the cuff.”

Haim will will be touring across North American beginning next month in support of its 2020 album Women In Music Part III, kicking-off in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 24 and conclude in Bend, Oregon on June 14.
