2021 Rolling Loud Miami Festival to feature headliners Post Malone, Travis Scott, & ASAP Rocky

Rolling Loud Miami has announced the full lineup for the 2021 festival, which will take place from July 23rd-25th at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. Travis Scott, Post Malone and A$AP Rocky will headline the event, the same acts who were supposed to take center stage in 2020. 

The lineup for 2021 includes:  Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, T-Pain, Curren$y, Fetty Wap, Wale, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, DaBaby, Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Uz,  Vert, Playboi Carti, Roddy Ricch, Rod Wave, Lil Tjay, Pooh Shiesty, Polo G, Ski Mask The Slump God, City Girls, and Coi Leray.

Rolling Loud will honor all passes for fans who purchased 2020 tickets, and will grant refunds to ticket-holders who are no longer able to attend. Limited tickets for the 2021 festival will be available for sale at 12 PM ET on April 23rd at the link – here.

The nominees were announced for the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which will be taking place over two nights on May 16 and May 17. The ceremony will be broadcast from the Palladium in Los Angeles on May 16 to honor the best in film and television. The network will then present the first ever MTV Movie & TV Awards: Unscripted on May 17, which will focus on reality television.

Marvel’s WandaVision leads the TV field with five nominations. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm leads all films with three nominations, followed by Judas and the Black Messiah with two. Emily in Paris, RuPaul’s Drag Race and The Boys each earned three nominations on the television side. RuPaul’s Drag Race also leads the unscripted categories with four nominations.

‘Annette,’ starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, will open the 2021 Cannes Film Festival

Cannes Film Festival organizers said Monday that Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard’s movie Annette will screen during the 2021 festival’s opening night on July 6.

Annette takes place in Los Angeles and follows Henry (Driver), a standup comedian, and Ann (Cotillard), a singer of international renown. The birth of the couple’s daughter, Annette, a mysterious girl with an exceptional destiny, changes their lives. The film marks the English-language debut of French director Leos Carax, and is a musical featuring an original story, music and lyrics by pop duo Sparks. Cannes Festival president Pierre Lescure said in a statement: “Every Leos Carax film is an event. Any this one delivers on its promises! Annette is the gift that lovers of cinema, music, and culture were hoping for, one that we have been yearning for during the past year.”

Annette will premiere In Competition after the opening ceremony. The film will be released in theaters and on Amazon Prime Video in late summer.

‘Downton Abbey 2’ set to open in theaters this December

Focus Features announced Monday that Downton Abbey 2 will open in theaters this December. The film is a sequel to the 2019 film and the ITV series, which aired for six seasons from 2010 to 2015.

Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael and other original cast members will return, along with series creator Julian Fellowes. In addition, Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West will join the cast. 

Focus Feature chairman Peter Kujawski said: “There’s no place like home for the holidays, and we can’t imagine a better gift than getting to reunite with Julian, Gareth, and the entire Downton family in 2021 to bring the Crawleys back home for their fans.”

Downton Abbey 2 is currently in production and will open in theaters Dec. 22.

“Rapstar” by Polo G debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Polo G’s new single “Rapstar” has debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The tune in the biggest song of Polo G’s career, and also marks his second appearance on the top 10 following last year’s “Hate the Other Side,” which was featured on the late Juice WRLD’s first posthumous album Legends Never Die.

“Rapstar” racked up 53.6 million plays on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube in just its first seven days of availability. The song also sold 5,300 copies in its debut, and replaces Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open,” pushing it from No. 1 down to the No. 3 spot.

‘American Idol’ contestant Cecil Ray Baker arrested after charges of burglary and abuse of ex-girlfriend

According to authorities in Texas, “American Idol” contestant Cecil Ray Baker was arrested after he forced his way into the home of his ex-girlfriend Mariah Lopez, and struck her in the face when she refused to let him see the child he believes is his. According to Lopez. after she wouldn’t allow Baker access, he went to a locked back door and ripped it open to gain entry, then pushed her to the floor and “struck her in the face with a palm heel” before leaving.

After trying to track down Baker, police learned that he had relocated to a nearby town. He was arrested a few days later on April 17 and booked for burglary of habitation, a second-degree felony in Texas; he was released the same day on $15,000 bond.

Cecil Ray made it to the top 24, but was eliminated from ‘Idol’ last week.

‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ leads at box office for 3rd week in a row with $7.7M

Godzilla vs. Kong is the No. 1 movie in North America for a third weekend, earning an additional $7.7 million in receipts. Godzilla vs. Kong opened two weekends ago with $32.2 million, which was the highest amount a film has raked in during its debut in the past year when the coronavirus pandemic. It earned another $13.4 million in receipts last weekend.

Coming in at No. 2 is Nobody with $2.5 million, followed by The Unholy at No. 3 with $2.1 million, Raya and the Last Dragon at No. 4 with $1.9 million and Tom and Jerry at No. 5 with $1.1 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Voyagers at No. 6 with $790,000, The Girl Who Believes in Miracles at No. 7 with $560,000, In the Earth at No. 8 with $500,000, The Courier at No. 9 with $460,000 and The Croods: A New Age at No. 10 with $300,000.

Mark and Donnie Wahlberg mourn death of their mother Alma Wahlberg at age 78

Mark and Donnie Wahlberg are mourning the death of their beloved mother, Alma Wahlberg. Her children announced April 18 that the famous Wahlberg family matriarch (who appeared on their family reality show “Wahlburgers,”) died at age 78.

Donnie Wahlberg wrote in an Instagram tribute: “I feel blessed to have been brought into this world by, raised by, taught by and set on my life’s path by, such an amazing woman. My mom Alma’s joy for life, love and people — combined with a pride in her humble beginnings and refusal to forget where she came from — undoubtedly shaped me into the man that I am. I’ve often said, if you like anything about me, I got it from Alma.” 

Alma had nine children: Michelle, Paul, Arthur, Jim, Tracey, Robert, Donnie, Mark, and Debbie, who died in 2003 at age 43. Their father, Alma Wahlberg’s ex-husband, Donald Wahlberg, died in 2008.

Taylor Swift’s Re-Recorded ‘Fearless’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200

More than 12 years after Taylor Swift earned her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart in 2008 with Fearless, she’s on top with a re-recorded version of the album, titled Fearless (Taylor’s Version). Thd album is Swift’s ninth No. 1 and scores the biggest week of 2021 for any album.

The original Fearless debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated Nov. 29, 2008, and spent 11 nonconsecutive weeks on the chart. It sold 10.28 million copies in the U.S. and is Swift’s second-biggest-selling release behind her 2014 album 1989.

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) contains 26-tracks, including re-recordings of all 13 songs on Fearless, along with the six bonus songs added to a 2009 reissue of Fearless (dubbed the Platinum Edition) and the 2010 single “Today Was a Fairytale.” Beyond those 20 re-recordings, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) also includes six newly recorded “from the vault” songs that were written for the original Fearless album, but were never recorded and released until now.
