Harry Brant, the younger son of billionaire publisher Peter Brant and model Stephanie Seymour, has died. The 24-year-old socialite and fashionista was found dead Sunday of an accidental drug overdose, his parents said in statement.  Brant’s parents said Brant died just days before he was to re-enter rehab.

Brant and Seymour said: “It is with enormous sorrow that we share with you the news that our beloved son, Harry Brant, lost his battle with addiction and died due to an accidental overdose of prescription medication. Our hearts are shattered. We will forever be saddened that Harry’s life was cut short by this devastating disease. We ask that you please allow our family privacy as we attempt to cope with the loss of our beautiful, beautiful boy.”

Brant was a staple of New York’s fashion scene, along with his brother, Peter Brant II. Brant modeled for Balmain and Italian Vogue, and launched a unisex makeup line for MAC with his brother in 2015. His parents said he had hoped to expand his role creatively at Peter Brant’s Interview magazine.

tmp4373db2e-3528-43c2-966e-fd017378e843-jpg

Drake has become the first artist ever to surpass 50 billion combined streams on Spotify. The site, which tweeted the update, notes that Drake is “the first artist in history to hit this milestone.”

Drake acknowledged his streaming achievement on his Instagram Stories. Future, who has regularly collaborated with Drake over the years, congratulated his fellow rapper on Twitter yesterday.

Drake’s next album, Certified Lover Boy, is set to be released this year. Certified Lover Boy was first announced when Drake released the lead single, “Laugh Now, Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk, back in August. A month prior, engineer Noel Cadastre said the LP was 90 per cent complete but “y’all gonna have to wait on that last 10 per cent”.

Certified Lover Boy will be the follow-up to Drake’s 2018 album, Scorpion. Drake has also released the Care Package compilation album in 2019 and the Dark Lane Demo Tapes collection.

Olivia Rodrigo debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 with “Driver’s License”

Olivia Rodrigo is kicking off 2021 with a No. 1 hit single. Rodrigo’s debut, “driver’s license” has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. Billboard reports that the song earned 76.1 million on-demand streams in its first week of availability, the biggest debut streaming week for a single in history.

At just 17, Rodrigo was best known as the star of Disney shows Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Her song’s fast rise to the top lead to speculation that the lyrics of “driver’s license” addressed her former relationship with her HSM co-star Joshua Bassett. Rodrigo is now one of the first artists ever to debut a song at No. 1 without a well-established music career.

“driver’s license” is the first single from Rodrigo’s upcoming EP, which has yet to reveal a release date.
