Ariana Grande Announces Engagement To Boyfriend Dalton Gomez

Ariana Grande announced that she is engaged to boyfriend Dalton Gomez on Instagram. Grande revealed the news in a series of photos of the two cuddling up together, writing in the caption, “Forever n then some,” and also flashed a ring with a massive diamond sparkler and what looked like a white pearl on a thin platinum band.

Grande and Dalton first confirmed their romance in June, when they appeared together in her quarantine-themed duet with Justin Bieber, “Stuck With U.” The pop superstar reportedly “spent a lot of one-on-one time” with Gomez in quarantine at the singer’s home in Los Angeles amid the coronavirus crisis lockdown. Grande and Gomez, a Los Angeles real estate agent, largely kept their love life out of the public eye.

Grande was previously engaged to “Saturday Night Live” star Pete Davidson in June 2018, but months later the pop star officially called off the engagement after their short-lived whirlwind romance.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Evermore’ Hits No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart

Taylor Swift has earned her eighth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, her second of 2020, with her surprise release Evermore. Evermore earned 329,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. making it the fifth-largest week of the year for any album.

Evermore was released on Dec. 11, available only as a standard digital download album and a standard streaming album. Evermore is the companion set to her earlier surprise No. 1 album, Folklore.=

At No. 2 on the Billboard 200 was Kid Cudi’s fifth top 10 effort with Man on the Moon III: The Chosen. Swift’s Folklore dropped to No. 3, and Michael Bublé’s former No. 1 Christmas held steady at No. 4. Jack Harlow’s debut studio album Thats What They All Say debuted at No. 5

Hilary Duff confirms that ‘Lizzie McGuire’ reboot is officially canceled

Hilary Duff has announced on Instagram that the planned Lizzie McGuire revival series for Disney+ has been canceled.

Duff said on social media: “I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work but, sadly & despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen. I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It’s what the character deserves. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. I’m very sad, but I promise everyone tried their best and the stars just didn’t align. Hey now, this is what 2020s made of.”

The original Lizzie McGuire series aired from 2000 to 2004 on Disney channel and spawned a 2003 film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Duff was set to reprise her role as an older Lizzie McGuire in the revival alongside returning stars Adam Lamberg as Gordo, Hallie Todd as Jo McGuire, Robert Carradine as Sam McGuire and Jake Thomas as Matt McGuire. 

Terri Minsky, the creator of the original Lizzie McGuire series, exited the Disney+ revival as showrunner in January following the filming of two episodes. The show never resumed production, and Duff suggested that the revival should be moved to Hulu so that it can explore more adult themes.

‘Revenge of the Nerds’ Reboot Is Coming From Seth MacFarlane

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane will produce a reboot of the ’80s comedy classic Revenge of the Nerds. The reboot for 20th Century will reportedly star The Lucas Brothers, who will also serve as writers for the project.

According to Variety: “The upcoming version won’t be a remake of the 1984 comedy, which hasn’t aged all that well and has been criticized in recent years for depictions of rape. Instead, the contemporary reimagining will pontificate about today’s nerd culture and what even constitutes a geek in the 21st century.”

Revenge of the Nerds original cast included Robert Carradine, Anthony Edwards, Timothy Busfield, and Curtis Armstrong as Booger.

Chance The Rapper announces ‘Chi-Town Christmas’ virtual concert film

27-year-old Chance the Rapper announced that he will host a special virtual concert called Chi-Town Christmas, on Friday, December 18th.

Chi-Town Christmas will stream on Chance the Rapper’s YouTube and Instagram accounts, as well as in VR in Oculus Quest’s Venues app. According to Oculus, “Chance the Rapper gifts the world a performance for the holidays showcasing the Grammy-winning performer moving through generations of television, culminating with a live band performance for the holidays.”

Chance the Rapper shared a teaser on Instagram with the caption: “Ayo I’m proud to say that I am finally doing another Virtual Concert this Friday, this one a whole movie,” he said.

Dionne Warwick, Chance the Rapper and The Weeknd Join Together For Charity Single

Dionne Warwick and Chance the Rapper are joining together with The Weeknd for their forthcoming charity single, ‘Nothing Is Impossible’. 

 In a short video posted to Twitter the legendary singer said she was “so excited” that The Weeknd had agreed to join them on their collaboration. The single, written by Warwick’s son Dionne Damon Elliott, will benefit the non-profit charity Hunger Not Impossible, whose aim is to fight hunger by connecting American families in need with nutritious meals provided by local restaurants.

The collaboration comes after Warwick took to Twitter earlier this month to jokingly grill Chance about his stage name. Warwick had also previously teased The Weeknd, tweeting, “The Weeknd is next. Why? It’s not even spelled correctly?” to which the ‘Blinding Lights’ artist replied, “I just got roasted by Dionne Warwick and I feel honored [sic]! You just made my day.”

Lily James and Sebastian Stan To Portray Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee In a Hulu Series

Actors Lily James and Sebastian Stan will portray “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in an upcoming limited series for Hulu called Pam and Tommy. The show will be produced by Seth Rogen, who will also portray the man who stole the duo’s infamous sex tape that was released online. “I, Tonya” director Craig Gillespie is helming the series, written by Rob Siegel. Anderson and Lee are apparently not involved, but they are aware that the show is happening.

Pam and Tommy will focus on the couple’s whirlwind romance and three-year marriage. Anderson and Lee were married in 1995 after knowing each other for less than a week. They had two children together —Brandon, born 1996, and Dylan, born 1997—before divorcing in 1998. 

James is best known for Cinderella, Mamma Mia and the updated Rebecca on Netflix. Stan is known for Gossip Girl and for playing Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, in the Avengers movies. He’s also starring alongside Anthony Mackie in Disney+’s upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

NBC Renews ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ For Two More Seaons

NBC has renewed The Kelly Clarkson Show for two more seasons, confirming that the show will stay on air until 2023. 

The Kelly Clarkson Show currently airs on over 200 syndicated stations. Tracie Wilson, executive vice president of NBCUniversal Syndication Studiosy, announced the news in a statement which read: ‘One ray of sunshine in this wildly unpredictable year is that we get to continue to deliver to stations and fans a show that brings people together. This wouldn’t be possible without the heart and humor of the talented and dedicated Kelly Clarkson and our production team, led by the incomparable Alex Duda, both of whom are masters of storytelling. It’s easy to see why Emmy voters, critics and viewers have become such loyal fans of the show.’ 

The critically acclaimed talk show has been a hit since it launched in 2019.m The series was one of many forced to shoot remotely when the Covid-19 pandemic began earlier this year, with Kelly filming at her Los Angeles home. Production was able to return to its Universal Studios home in September, with a virtual in-studio audience.

Jennifer Lopez to Headline ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest’

Jennifer Lopez has been announced as the headliner for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2021, which will air live on Dec. 31, 2020, starting at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Other performers include Jimmie Allen, and a collaboration between Billy Porter and Cyndi Lauper, who will perform a Kinky Boots reunion. 

Lopez will perform just before the ball drops ad midnight, but there will be no live audience, as this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square will be closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have revealed. Seacrest will be there to introduce the performers, and Porter will join him for some non-musical interludes as well. Lucy Hale will also be co-hosting. In addition, Ciara will host the west coast festivities from Los Angeles, California for the fourth year in a row.

Noah Cyrus Releases Official Music Video For ‘All Three’

Singer-songwriter Noah Cyrus has released the music video for her new song, ‘All Three.’  The song follows the release of Noah’s May 2020 EP The End of Everything, featuring her double-platinum hit ‘July’ and ‘Lonely’. The End of Everything chronicles her battles with depression and body dysmorphia, and sees the singer-songwriter contemplating past relationships.

Cyrus was nominated for a 2021 Grammy in the Best New Artist category alongside Ingrid Andress, Phoebe Bridgers, Chika, D Smoke, Doja Cat, Kaytranada and Megan Thee Stallion.
